How to put a head button stud screwback ?

The head button stud screwback is composed of two parts: a male part and a female part. The male part is simply screwed with a flat screwdriver. Head buttons stud screwback are easily fitted with a punch cutter to pierce leather, imitation leather, crystal, etc.

The steps to follow:

Prepare the pose:

  • Using the punch cutter, make a hole of the exact size of the stem of the female part in your piece of leather, wherever you want it to be.
  • 10 mm away from the center of the freshly made hole, make a smaller hole. NB: this hole will prevent the leather to tear itself apart with use.
  • Using a cutter, make a 10 mm slot lengthwise, joining the two holes.


Install the head button stud screwback:

  • Make a hole of the exact size of the threaded male steam in the leather and then screw the male part into the female part by wedging the leather in between.
