What is cretonne cotton?

The cretonne cotton fabric is a fabric a little thicker and less fluid than conventional cotton. It is a resistant canvas that can be used to make clothes, but its main use is usually as furnishing fabric (protective covers for furniture, curtains) or linens (undercovers). The cretonne cotton fabric can also be coated and then becomes impervious, it is then used for making tablecloths, outdoor cushions, pouches, aprons, or toilet kits.
